Do you move furniture?

Due to liability purposes, we don't move any furniture or electronics. We ask that you move as much furniture as possible from the areas that are to be cleaned before the technician’s arrival. Moving furniture during the cleaning process is not allowed.
We are not allowed to move anything heavy or bulky. Large pieces of furniture that cannot be moved can be easily cleaned around.
We DO NOT move musical instruments, grandfather clocks, computers, electronic equipment, big-screen TVs, most beds, full China hutches, full bookshelves, entertainment centers, pool tables, or pianos. OneTwoClean reserves the right NOT to move any piece of furniture or household object that they do not feel comfortable with.

Do you provide pet stain and odour removal services?

Absolutely. Pet stains and odour treatment are among the services we offer. We use UV light to locate all stains. Our special pet treatment process helps to remove stains and neutralize smells. In some cases, it may not be possible to detect and treat every source of the odour. Odours can linger in baseboards, upholstery, window dressings, and even paint. We cannot 100% guarantee complete odour removal.

PLEASE BE ADVISED. If a room is affected by severe pet stains and odours, the only effective method is to remove the carpet, replace it, and seal the subfloor.

What do you consider “tough stains”?

We consider "Tough stains" any stain or spot that requires special treatment, extra time, or special equipment to remove. Stains like paint, nail polish, markers, gum, red stains, and cosmetics are examples of these. The cost for stain removal starts at $10, depending on the size of the stain.

Do you guarantee the removal of all spots or stains from the carpet or upholstery?

We cannot guarantee that we will remove all carpet spots or stains. The carpet fibres can be discoloured permanently by certain substances. Most grayish/blackish stains will come out. Unfortunately, anything with a dye will pose a problem. There is no way to remove a dye spot from your carpet without affecting the original dye applied when the carpet was manufactured. So, wood stains, food colouring from popsicles, hair dye, rust, some markers, dyes in some candle wax, paint and nail polish, etc., often can’t be removed.

Do you clean wall-to-wall wool carpet?
Yes. We use a gentle, wool-safe cleaning process designed specifically for natural fibers. Our methods are carefully adjusted to remove dirt and stains effectively while protecting the texture and colour of your wool carpet.

How long before I can walk on my carpet?

You can walk on your carpet immediately, but we recommend that you limit traffic until it is completely dry. Please also be careful when you step from a wet carpet to a hard surface. It can be slippery.
Hardwood Floor Refinishing FAQs
What is the difference between Sanding & Refinishing and Polish & Recoat?

Sanding and Refinishing is a full restoration process. It involves sanding down the hardwood to remove a layer of wood along with deep scratches, dents, stains, and unevenness. The floor is then stained (if desired) and sealed with a new protective finish. This option is best for heavily damaged or very worn floors.

Polish and Recoat (also known as screen and recoat or sandless refinishing) focuses on restoring the floor’s surface without removing the wood itself. The process includes deep cleaning, lightly sanding the existing finish, addressing worn areas, and applying fresh coats of protective finish. While it won’t remove deep scratches or dents, it significantly improves appearance, restores even sheen and color, and eliminates surface-level scratches, scuffs, and wear—leaving floors looking fresh and renewed.

Do I need to move my furniture out?

Yes. On the day of service, all furniture and items must be removed from the floor to allow proper preparation and an even finish.

Can I change the color of my hardwood floor with sandless refinishing?

No. Light sanding does not remove the existing stain or reach the raw wood. Changing the color of your floors requires full sanding down to the wood grain, followed by staining and refinishing—a service we do not currently offer.

Can engineered hardwood floors be refinished?

Yes. Many engineered hardwood floors can be refinished, depending on the condition of the wear layer. Our specialists can assess your floor to determine suitability.

Does polishing and recoating produce a lot of dust?

No. Our sandless refinishing process produces minimal dust. Any dust generated comes from the removal of the old finish, not from sanding the wood itself, and is fully cleaned up before the job is completed.

Will there be dust or strong chemical smells in my home?

No. Sandless refinishing does not produce wood dust and uses low-odor, non-toxic products. There are no heavy fumes, making it a safer and more comfortable option for occupied homes.

Will polishing remove black pet stains or water damage?

No. Deep pet urine stains and water damage typically penetrate the wood. While full sanding may reduce their appearance in some cases, complete removal often requires replacing the affected boards.

What types of finishes do you offer for hardwood floors in Calgary?

We offer a selection of finishes, including matte, satin, and semi-gloss, to suit your style and space. We use commercial-grade polyurethane coatings designed to protect and enhance hardwood floors in Calgary homes and businesses.

How much does hardwood floor refinishing cost in Calgary?

Pricing depends on floor condition and square footage. Full sanding and refinishing typically ranges from $7.50–$11 per sq. ft. Sandless refinishing is significantly more affordable than full sanding and refinishing in Calgary. Contact us for a free on-site quote tailored to your home in Calgary or the surrounding areas.

How often should I recoat my hardwood floors?

We recommend refinishing every 5–7 years to maintain appearance and protection. Regular light sanding extends the life of your floors and helps delay the need for full sanding.

Is sandless refinishing right for my hardwood floors?

If your floors have minor scratches, dullness, or light wear—but no deep gouges, stains, or water damage—light sanding is likely an excellent option. Our floor care specialists can assess your hardwood floors in Calgary and nearby communities to confirm the best solution.
Hardwood Floor Wax Removal FAQs
How do I know if my hardwood floors in Calgary need wax removal?

If your floors look cloudy, sticky, streaky, or have an uneven shine despite regular cleaning, wax buildup is likely the cause. Our team can inspect your floors and determine whether professional wax removal is the right solution.

Can wax buildup be removed without sanding the floors?

Yes. We use a gentle, non-sanding process that safely breaks down and removes built-up wax without damaging the wood or existing finish. This method restores clarity and shine without the mess or disruption of refinishing.

How long does wax removal take for a typical Calgary home?

Most wax removal projects can be completed in a single day, depending on the size and condition of the floors. We’ll provide a clear timeline during your free in-home estimate in Calgary.

Do I need to move my furniture out?
